Entrance Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old by the time of hire
• United States Citizen
• High School Graduate or have a GED certificate
• Any military discharge must be "honorable," or "under honorable conditions"
• Have a valid kansas Driver's license by time of hire
• Live within the city limits, or within 30 minutes lawful driving time of the city limits
• Must satisfy all requirements as set forth by the Wichita Police Department

Other Requirements

• Once selected for Academy, must attend M-F, 7pm - 10pm, for up to 14 weeks.
• Must work a minimum of 20 hours per month and attend required meetings and special assignments
• Note: All required duty equipment will be furnished to you.
